One person was airlifted to a trauma centre and four others to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in the north end of Peterborough, Ont., early Sunday.
A head-on collision involving a car and a pickup truck along Lakefield Road north of Woodland Drive was reported at about 2 a.m.
Emergency crews found one vehicle on its side and another in the ditch.
The Peterborough Police Service says four people were in one vehicle were transported to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
Another individual in the other vehicle had to be extricated. The individual was transported by an Ornge air ambulance to a Toronto-area hospital, police said.
The road reopened just after 11 a.m.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
