It was the end of an already difficult week for Angela Dixon and her husband Chris.
“His vehicle actually broke down just the week prior, and we figured that we’ll wait until after Christmas to get his vehicle looked at,” said Angela Dixon. “We figured we still had my vehicle, but with all the snow and everything it kept getting stuck. Eventually I just blew the clutch.”
With two vehicles out of commission, the couple had no choice but to agree to the repairs. What they weren’t anticipating was the cost it would have on their daughter’s Christmas.
“I cried. I didn’t know what we were going to do,” said Dixon.
The couple had returned Christmas gifts purchased for their two daughters, three-year-old Katelyn and seven-year-old Victoria, to make the first payment towards their $1,100 bill.
“We were all feeling the pressures, we were all feeling the stress,” said Dixon. “We just wanted to throw in the towel.”
When it seemed that ‘Grinch-mas’ couldn’t get any worse for the Dixon’s, Con and Maria Schultz crossed their path.
“Maria, not knowing Angela, out of the goodness of her heart phoned us up and offered to, and immediately did, pay the balance of the bill,” said Brian Kaltenbruner, Owner of Harold’s Auto Services.
“I just feel that we have been very blessed, so I just wanted to touch someone else,” said Maria Schultz. “Without any strings attached, without receiving anything back.”

The spirit of giving didn’t stop there for the Dixon’s, because there was one more surprise waiting for them in their vehicle.
The cost of the broken clutch was covered but that still meant there were no gifts under the Dixon’s Christmas tree.
The Schultz’s genorousity had snowballed and in what can only be described as a Christmas miracle, strangers began dropping off gifts to Harold’s Auto Services
“This was the one time that we really needed it and we had nobody,” said Dixon.
“We’re not the ones to really try and ask for a lot of help.”
The Schultz family says they have been receiving dozens of messages praising them for their gesture and they are asking everyone to repay them, by paying it forward to others in need.
