Downtown Toronto intersection flooded after car hits fire hydrant

TORONTO – A downtown Toronto intersection has turned into a partial ice rink after a car struck a fire hydrant early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened at the intersection of King and Jarvis Streets around 6:30 a.m.

Initial reports indicate the vehicle was attempting to stop when it slid into the hydrant due to the wet and snowy conditions.

City crews managed to shut the water off around 8 a.m.
