SASKATOON – Local roads were blanketed with over 12 centimetres of snow from Friday evening to Sunday morning, according to the City of Saskatoon.
Throughout the snowfall, civic crews and contractors were out applying de-icing material, plowing and clearing priority 1 streets.
Priority 1 streets have been completed and crews are working on priority 2 and 3.
Starting Monday, crews will be clearing and placing snow in the centre of the streets to be hauled away this week:
Monday Evening
- Completion of clearing and collecting snow in the centre lanes in the Downtown BID.

Tuesday Evening
- Loading and hauling out snow in Downtown BID, University Bridge and Broadway Bridge.
Wednesday Evening
- Continue loading and hauling out snow in the Downtown BID.
Thursday Evening
Clearing and removing snow in the Broadway BID and adjoining blocks:
- 12th Street from Eastlake Avenue to Broadway Avenue
- 11th Street from Eastlake Avenue to Dufferin Avenue
- 10th Street from Eastlake Avenue to Dufferin Avenue
- Main Street from Eastlake Avenue to Dufferin Avenue
- 9th Street from Eastlake Avenue to Dufferin Avenue
- Dufferin Ave from Main Street to 10th Street
Friday Evening
Clearing and removing snow:
- Riversdale BID
- 33rd Street between Idylwyld Drive and Avenue H
- Sutherland BID
Drivers are reminded to obey ‘No Parking’ signs and give crews space to get the job done as quickly and safely as possible.
The city’s McOrmond Drive snow storage site opened Monday. There are now four snow storage sites open, one in each quadrant of the city.
Police are asking motorists to be careful on Saskatoon roads during these current road conditions.
