MONTREAL – The Montreal body that runs both the Mirabel and Trudeau airports assured the public there won’t be any labour disruptions over the holidays.
On Tuesday, the union representing blue-collar employees at both facilities voted in favour of a possible strike as efforts continue to achieve a new contract.
The 260 workers involved handle runway snow removal and general maintenance and have been without a contract for about a year.

In a statement on its website, Aeroports de Montreal says talks continue and “many steps must be taken” before any walkout would occur.
It says there is “no possibility of legal strike” over the holidays at either airport.
Negotiations are stalled on several points, including wages and the possible outsourcing of some services provided by the blue-collar workers.
