The Westside Warriors defeated the Prince George Spruce Kings 6-3 on Thursday night.
The Warriors began the night with two quick goals from Tyler Brickler and Travis Blanleil.
The team pulled ahead 4-0 during the second period.
As the period wore on, it seemed the Warriors had things in control, but back-to-back penalties weakened the team’s offense.
Kings Justin Fillion and Faiz Khan both scored goals, making the score 4-2.
Tyler Krause and Quinn Gould helped secure a 6-2 lead for the Warriors by the end of the second period.
Kings Brendon Fornwald slipped a shot in the third period to clinch a third goal for the team.
The Warriors outshot Prince George 29-23 and went 1-for-5 on the power play while the Kings went 1-for-6.
The team plays the Quesnel Millionaires Friday night before returning home.
The Warriors are now just four points back of Salmon Arm for fourth in the Interior Conference.
