WEST KELOWNA – It was the drugs that made him do it.
A man who robbed a West Kelowna bank needed the cash to feed his addictions.
Ryan Terry Therrien was armed with pepper spray and wearing a mask when he jumped over the counter and demanded money at a TD Canada Trust bank last May.

The 24-year-old fled on a bicycle.
Therrien’s mother tipped off police that the robber might be her son.
That was confirmed by DNA obtained from a hat found nearby by a police dog.
Therrien has been in custody for five months.
On Thursday, he was sentenced to a further 25 months in a federal penitentiary.
This is Therrien’s second robbery conviction.
In 2011, he held up a bank in Chilliwack and was sentenced to 14 months in jail.
