Calgary woman killed by truck

Authorities have released the name of a Calgary woman struck and killed by a truck while walking on a rural highway east of Calgary and laid charges against a motorist.

Candace Dixon, 24, was killed Saturday morning when a pickup truck hit her from behind as she walked along Highway 901 near Range Road 245 on the west side of the Siksika Nation.

Robin Wesley Bigsnake, 26, of Siksika has now been charged with impaired driving causing death and refusing to provide a breath sample.

He is scheduled to appear in Gleichen provincial court on Nov. 25.
