Paul Walker’s father mourns his famous son

TORONTO — “I’m just glad that every time I saw him, I told him I loved him. And he would say the same thing to me.”

These are the heart-wrenching words of Paul Walker Sr., whose famous son was killed Saturday in a horrific car crash.

“His heart was so big,” Walker Sr. told CBS News in Los Angeles. “I was proud of him every day of his life.”

Actor Paul Walker and friend Roger Rodas were killed when the Porsche they were in slammed into trees and a cement light pole and then burst into flames.

Walker’s father said he and his son’s four siblings are relying on the support of friends and loved ones.

“His brothers are all taking it pretty hard,” he said.

Walker Sr. said his son had expressed a desire to spend more time with his 15-year-old daughter Meadow.

“[He said] ‘I don’t have much more time to be with her’ and then, boom, he got another three movies. He would say, ‘I don’t know what to do.'”

According to Canadian actor Robert Maillet, Walker brought Meadow with him to Montreal this summer, where he filmed scenes for the forthcoming drama Brick Mansions.

Funeral arrangements for Walker have not been determined.

Police are using dental records to positively identify the victims of the crash.
