In a major escalation, the Pentagon has labeled AI company Anthropic a supply chain risk, effective immediately. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth designated Anthropic’s AI chatbot Claude a national security risk after the company refused to lift restrictions on its use for mass surveillance or fully autonomous weapons.
