What’s better than Memphis-style ribs smoked over hickory wood and paired with a beautifully complex red ale? How about flavour-bursting street food with a crisp light lager? Throw in live music and you have the makings of a perfect summer evening. This is Barley & Smoke: Grillin’ for a Cure, a fundraising event for Kids Cancer Care that brings together local microbreweries and restaurants for the taste event of the year. Barley & Smoke is the only event of its kind that is one hundred per cent local, showcasing local tastes and local talents to raise funds for a local children’s cancer charity.
