The Lunenburg Arts Fest (LAF) is an exciting annual Plein Air event formerly known as Paint Sea on Site. The Lunenburg Art Gallery Society has successfully hosted this Annual event for 21 years.
Live Art at its’ finest, the Lunenburg Arts Fest, coordinates a group of participating artists painting and showing their creations, in and around the town of Lunenburg. It is an art festival that engages the public and provides everyone an opportunity to watch artists at work and the opportunity to purchase original art directly from the makers.
In 2021 we moved the festival entirely outdoors and added an artist market. In 2022 we started a Studio Tour for our local galleries and artists to display/sell their work around our immediate area and in nearby Blue Rocks.
In addition to traditional LIVE Plein Air painting and drawing artists, the LAF festival now includes additional artist’s studio work in a variety of mediums. Thanks to the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic, completed artwork is showcased in a large outdoor tent and smaller market tents on the Fisheries Museum Wharf! Artist’s studio works are also available in select galleries and studios in the area.
