Curious and Cold: the story of an immigrant quartet is a “string quartet tale” that celebrates Edmonton and Canada as a mosaic of different cultures, built on integration and mutual respect. The show is conceived as a story narrated by an actor about newcomers immigrating to Canada; the spoken words are intercalated by the performance of repertoire music and new pieces composed for our group. In its whole, the performance recalls the origin of the quartet members and celebrates the place that has welcomed them 10 years ago. The text was written by Mark Morris, an English literature instructor at University of Alberta. The singer/actor Ron Long, will share the stage with the Vaughan String Quartet as the narrator of the story.
