With over 5000 plants for sale, food trucks, interactive activities for all ages and local plant experts giving plant care advice, the VBGA Plant Sale is a must attend for all plant lovers! Vancouver’s biggest Plant Sale event is back! The VBGA Plant Sale will be taking place on May 13th between 10am and 4pm in Queen Elizabeth Park (on the plaza beside Bloedel Conservatory). The sale will feature Food Plants for People and for Pollinators, addressing critical issues for our local ecologies including biodiversity and the climate emergency, the decline of native and other pollinators, and impacts to our food supplies. From over 500 diverse plant varieties you will find temperate trees, shrubs and vines, native plants, fruit trees and shrubs, mushrooms, vegetables, herbs, perennials, annuals, and also carnivorous and tropical plants, and orchids. We expect that the hardest part for our visitors will be choosing from the selection of over 5,000 plants! Plants are priced to suit every budget. As well, we will be selling seeds collected from VanDusen Botanical Garden. To feed your plants and seeds we will also have Food for the Soil with Sea Soil amender available for sale. There will be educational activities for all ages, plant experts to answer your gardening questions and educational organizations to help you better understand the critical role of people, plants and pollinators in our Pacific Coastal ecology. To feed you that day, there will be food vendors onsite with a variety of offerings, including delicious vegan food. Prices starting at $5.00! The Plant Sale is a free event.
