For the first time in the company’s history, Calgary Opera produces Verdi’s haunting interpretation of Shakespeare’s classic tale Macbeth.
The Scottish tragedy will come to life on the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium stage April 22, 26 & 28, 2023 with spellbinding music and eerie supernatural elements. Audiences will be chilled by the intense plot of ambition, prophecy, murder, and obsession, accompanied by the formidable Calgary Opera Chorus and the acclaimed Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Calgary Opera is thrilled to close its 50th Anniversary season with this new production that offers a grand operatic experience delivering powerful music, a gothic aesthetic, and haunting visuals that will entertain audiences.
