Esprit de Choeur Womens’ Choir, conducted by Valdine Anderson, presents Medieval and Mod on Sunday, Dec. 4th @ 3 pm, at Knox United Church. John Rutter’s Christmas choral masterpiece, Dancing Day, is the central work, bookended with modern arrangements of the music of 11th century German saint, poet and composer Hildegarde von Bingen plus other seasonal music and solos. Guest musicians Joshua Atayan on electric bass, Steven Howes on percussion and Shiloh Hiebert on violin, along with Esprit pianist Rachel Dyck join Esprit choristers for an hour-long concert of Christmas music that merges new and old, medieval and mod. Tickets range from $15 to $25 and are available at Knox United Church, 400 Edmonton Street by cash, Visa and Mastercard and on Eventbrite for Paypal account holders.
