Big Fall Fabulous Fabric Frenzy Saturday, Sept. 17

In 2006 Edmonton Grandmothers and “GrandOthers” became part of the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign (G2G) https://grandmotherscampaign.org/ – a grassroots movement of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, launched in response to the crisis faced by grandmothers across sub-Saharan Africa as they struggled to care for millions of children orphaned by AIDS. Since 2013 the Edmonton GANG https://edmgrandmothers.org/ has undertaken major fundraising Fabulous Fabric Frenzy (FFF) events. These are sales of donated fabric, yarn, notions and craft and quilting supplies at bargain basement prices! To date the group has raised over $220,000.00 to contribute to the G2G campaign with the FFF events. With COVID slowing all of us down for a couple of years Edmonton grandmothers have been busy folding, pricing, sorting and storing literally thousands upon thousands of metres of fabric, hundreds of balls of yarn and boxes upon boxes of notions and craft supplies.
