The 14th Annual Myeloma Walk of Champions will be a hybrid event this year, meaning that you can participate in person or virtually. Below is the event schedule. More information can be found here.
Registration: 9-10am
Warm up: 9:50am
5k Walk: 10:15am
2K Walk: 10:30am
When you register, you can choose to either participate virtually or in person. Don’t worry if you change your mind on how you want to participate, just let us know by updating it in your Participant Centre!
Note: this year’s in person event will be a scaled back version of previous years to accommodate COIVD precautions. There will be no served lunch at the Dorchester Fairgrounds. Granola, fruit and water will be available to in person event attendees and we will have food trucks at Dorchester Fairgrounds for some delicious post walk eats. There is no ATM on site, so please bring cash.
ABOUT THE WALK OF CHAMPIONS
The Walk of Champions for Myeloma Cancer Research was started in 2009 by Myeloma patients Dan Childerhose and the late Keith Fleming, members of the London & District Myeloma Support Group Steering Committee living in the Dorchester area. They decided to organize a local walk to raise money for Myeloma clinical trials at the London Regional Cancer Program.
Each year, the Childerhose family, the Fleming family and the London and District Myeloma Support Group, along with the generous support of the community, work hard to ensure our annual Walk is a huge success. To date, the Walk of Champions has raised over $850,000 for Myeloma Cancer Research.
