What is something you wish more people understood about you? In continuing to bridge connections for Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside Community, Employ To Empower is hosting Cardboard Project 4.0 — which will be in-person for the first time since the pandemic started, featuring an artistic exhibit, live performances, talks from three key female entrepreneurs, and more than 100 cardboard messages from DTES community members. Each year, a different theme is featured, with 2022 encouraging attendees to step aside from internal biases, and let the individual in front of them choose the topic of conversation. The messages on the cardboard pieces will reflect responses to the feature question: What is something you wish more people understood about you? Key partners supporting the event include BC Housing, Simon Fraser University External Relations, City of Vancouver Homelessness Action Week Grant, Vancity, Union Gospel Mission, Daily Hive, Mission Possible, and Carnegie Community Centre. Time: Saturday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Location: Creekside Community Recreation Centre, 1 Athletes Way, Vancouver, BC V5Y 0B1 Register: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/cardboard-project-40-tickets-318503411277 Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/cardboard-project-40-tickets-318503411277 Virtual gallery from previous years: https://www.cardboardproject.com/ Website: https://employtoempower.com/ Event contact: Employ to Empower https://employtoempower.com/ events@employtoempower.com
