There will be a one-day winter carnival event on Saturday March 12, 2022, from 10am – 5pm. The event will include an outdoor scavenger hunt, food trucks, art activities, entertainment, special performances, and live music. As part of the event, participants will be encouraged to contribute to a permanent musical fence installation. Activities will be hosted outdoors on the Alexandra Centre premise (922 9 Avenue SE), Jack Long Park, Calgary Read’s Little Red Reading House and on the east lawn at Fort Calgary. We invite everyone to come to this FREE event! Winter Carnival attendees that participate in the free outdoor scavenger hunt will be entered into a draw to win prizes including a family membership to the National Music Centre, Calgary Hitmen Tickets, book prizes from Calgary Reads and a set of free classes at the Alexandra Centre Society. All attendees will also be eligible for discounted admission to Fort Calgary. We look forward to seeing everyone there! The carnival is proudly hosted by the Alexandra Centre Society, East Village Neighborhood Association, Kinkonauts Improv Theatre, Calgary Reads, Karen Scarlett, Inglewood Child Development Centre and JazzYYC. We are generously supported by the Parks Foundation Calgary and the City of Calgary’s Warm Up to Winter Grant.
