Everyone welcome to attend our September Speaker Series: The Ring Houses as an Intrinsic Part of Edmonton’s Urban Plan with speaker, Darrel Babuk, Principal, Boreas Architecture & Civic Design, Inc.
The City of Edmonton adopted an urban plan in 1907 that was modelled after the “City Beautiful” model of axial boulevards terminating in grand vistas and focal points. The University of Alberta followed suit with its “City Beautiful” plan, which included a ring of faculty houses off of its beautiful Convocation Hall. This presentation looks at that urban plan, and the Ring Houses that form an intrinsic part.
Free presentation available in person or online via Zoom.
No registration required for in person attendance.
If wanting to attend online via Zoom, please register at https://historicedmonton.ca/edhs-special/the-ring-houses-as-an-intrinsic-part-of-edmontons-urban-plan/ for the Zoom link.
