“Getaway” to MacKenzie Camp this Summer

Want to vacation locally this summer, safe from COVID? MacKenzie Camp, on beautiful Mabel Lake, may be just the spot for you. It’s offering “Family Getaways” on six consecutive weekends, starting July 8. You can relax, have fun, and enjoy the Great Outdoors with family members, while knowing that all health regulations are being followed to the letter. Here’s how it works. Family Getaways run Thursday evening through Sunday noon (through to Monday noon on the BC Day long weekend). Each household, to a maximum of 8 people, gets its own cabin, firepit, and picnic table. Vacationers can hike, kayak, and enjoy star-gazing and marshmallows ‘round their campfires – all within their family “bubbles.” Our well-trained staff will be on hand to help organize crafts, archery, the climbing wall, and sing-songs. Swimming times under a lifeguard’s supervision are also scheduled. Families can sign up for organized activities or just chill on their own. What’s more – we do the cooking! MacKenzie Camp’s cookie will provide three delicious meals a day, with plenty of options to respect food needs and allergies. How much does it cost? It depends on the size of the family, but about $650 for a family of four ($860 on the BC Day weekend). In addition, camperships are available to help make camp more affordable. If the provincial government or the BC Camping Association were to disallow summer camps, or if anyone in your household were to test positive for COVID-19, registration fees will be refunded in full.
