Have a laugh with host JJ Lee and bestselling author Maria Semple as they discuss her critically acclaimed witty novels Today Will Be Different and Where’d You Go Bernadette, which was recently adapted into a movie starring Cate Blanchette. In this session, JJ and Maria will talk about her writing process and style, the inspiration behind her novels, and the art of creating humorous stories. An audience Q&A and prize draw will follow. Maria Semple is the international bestselling author of Today Will Be Different (2016), one of New York Times Book Review’s 100 Notable Books; Where’d You Go, Bernadette (2012), which has been translated into 25 languages and short-listed for the Women’s Prize; and This One is Mine (2008).
