To all lovers of the Mexican Nectar: Tequila and Mezcal! Condesa Jewelry Expertise and David Ciralsky present “Bats, Blooms and Bars” The unexpected connection between the night dwellers and your favourite drink An exclusive conference by world renowned biologist and conservationist Dr. Rodrigo Medellin. Giving you a chance to hear and learn from this amazing biologist and find out where exactly Tequila and Mezcal come from. To learn how the uneducated practices of the past have decimated and endangered the magnificent agave plant and her coexisting companion, the Lesser Longnose Bat, by the use of clonal shoots to replant the agave as opposed to pollination by the bats, preventing genetic diversity to secure resistance from disease. The event is a talk as well as a fundraiser to help Rodrigo’s NGO, Bioconciencia.org continue their very important work. It is also a celebration, which will include mezcal and tequila tasting, an exquisite Oaxacan hors d´oeuvres and a raffle-draw of some pieces from the exclusive jewelry line David Ciralsky designed and created, inspired by the Leptonycteris Yerbabuenae, the Lesser Long nosed Bat.
