This Valentine’s Day special launches The Year of Beethoven, CPO’s tribute to the greatest symphonic composer of all time.
Beethoven 1: Immortal Beloved opens with a new commission by Larysa Kuzmenko inspired by Beethoven’s first symphony. “Ever thine. Ever mine. Ever ours.”, Beethoven wrote in an intimate letter to his Immortal Beloved.
Beethoven 2: Romance features the remarkable young violinist, Yesong Spohie Lee and acclaimed pianist Sa Chen. This concert opens with a new commission by Barbara Croall, inspired by Beethoven’s second symphony.
