Learn why snakes are important to our ecosystem, and help protect their environment, when you visit the Vancouver Aquarium. July 16 is World Snake Day, and where better to celebrate than at the Vancouver Aquarium, home to several species of this amazing reptile? • Are you brave enough to come face-to-face with a snake? You’re in good hands during the “Meet a Snake” program. Ask our animal experts all about your favourite snake and get your face painted like a boa, python or anaconda!

The Graham Amazon Gallery is now home to beautiful butterflies. Learn all about the life cycle of these fascinating invertebrates as you observe them flutter among turtles, exotic birds and sloths. • Catch our new 4-D movies: “Splash & Bubbles: 4-D Undersea Adventure” and “A Reef Reborn 4-D,” now showing every 20 minutes.

Enjoy the summer sunshine as you wander around our outdoor exhibits. Catch a Steller sea lion or walrus show, and watch in awe as adorable sea otters get fed. Our outdoor areas have all-new food options too, including delicious pizza slices and perogies. This summer the Vancouver Aquarium has extended its opening hours and is now open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For more information, visit http://www.vanaqua.org
