Duel Notre-Dame de Grâce 2019

A DAY OF SWORDPLAY in NDG PARK Since 2015, Escrime Mont-Royal has organized an outdoor tournament in mixed epee, a unique event in both Quebec and Canada. Following the great success of the first four Duels at Fort Chambly and on l’île Sainte-Hélène, this year we return the Duel to our home borough, Arrondissement de Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, just around the corner from our club. The Duel Notre-Dame-de-Grâce will be ​​on June 8, 2019 (rain date June 9) in the beautiful NDG Park. Come visit us to watch this exciting tournament and learn about the noble art and science of fencing, and take up the challenge to give it a try yourself. Coaches and club members will be on hand to introduce you to the various forms of fencing: MODERN FENCING – foil, epee and sabre: as seen at the Olympic games. TRADITIONAL HISTORICAL FENCING – smallsword: weapons that were traditionally used for self-defence. MODIFIED FENCING – for those with limited mobility. The Duel will also allow our community to join in the Participaction Community Better Challenge (from May 31 to June 16) and strive to be named Canada’s Most Active Community.
