A city wide event held on April 2nd, to raise awareness and acceptance for Autism Spectrum Disorder, and for all differences among the general public. United Nations named April 2nd World Autism Awareness Day. In honour of this, the event has been held annually on April 2nd since 2014. YYC World Autism Awareness Day 2019 is organized by non-profit organizations, Autism Calgary and Autism Aspergers Friendship Society, and this year will be the 6th annual event. Our organizations have mapped this event as the largest of its kind in Canada. This event helps society embrace diversity, not only in Autism, but also in both visible and invisible disabilities.
