Edmonton Emergency Relief Services Society (EERSS) is a local non-profit organization, which aids disaster to fire victims, the homeless, Newcomers and low-income families in Edmonton and surrounding area. We are proud to announce our BLANKET ALBERTA IN WARMTH CAMPAIGN 2018 kick-off. The campaign will run from November 1st 2018 to November 9th 2018. Our kick off for the blanket campaign will be on 1st November 2018 from 11am to 1 pm. It will be held at the EERSS at 10255-104 Street. We will be contacting the media to cover this event. Our goal this year is to collect over 8,000 blankets. Each year, the BLANKET ALBERTA IN WARMTH CAMPAIGN looks to gather new and gently used blankets to distribute to anyone in need; free of charge. Over the more recent years, the supply and demand for the blankets has increased as we distribute these blankets to the Refugees, low income and to the working poor, as well; we distribute these blankets to other agencies, Warm-up shelters, and other organizations that help new comers. The EERSS is listed with the Disaster Services to respond to any disasters. We have assisted in the Slave Lake fire, the flooding in Southern Alberta, large apartment fires, and in 2016 Canada’s largest natural disaster in the Wood Buffalo Wild fire where EERSS had the privilege of coordinating the relief efforts for over 72,000 evacuees. We at Edmonton Emergency Relief Services Society would like to see you attend our event.
