FREE Screening for Kidney Health

Place: White Valley Community Hall – 2250 Shields Avenue, Lumby Registration: Pre-registration required. To book confidential individual appointments, please call the Lumby Health Centre @ (250) 547-9741. The Kidney Foundation of Canada, BC Branch and Lumby & District Health Society are offering a free screening opportunity for those who are at risk for kidney disease. This includes individuals with one or more of the following: • Diabetes • High blood pressure • Cardio Vascular disease • Kidney problems • Family history of chronic kidney disease • An ancestry which includes Aboriginal, African, Asian, South Asian, Caribbean, Hispanic or South Pacific • Those who are 55 years old Testing done includes: • Urinalysis • Blood Pressure • Waist circumference and weight • Body Mass Index • Blood Glucose (no fasting required) • Two Kidney function tests with STAT Sensor machine * Confidential free on-site testing (takes approx. 30 – 40 minutes) * Participants to provide urine specimen upon arrival to event. * All test results are reviewed by a RN and given to the participants at the event.
