In this workshop, you will learn about the fundamentals of jQuery – but it will be fun! Join us to learn how to speak to your webpage and tell it to do things for you. At the workshop, we will be creating a small web application to keep track of an event’s attendance. At the end of the workshop, the following code will make perfect sense to you: $(function() { $(“#you”).appendTo(“#ladieslearningcode”); }); The Ladies Learning Code Introduction to jQuery workshop is designed to be a hands-on experience. During the session, you will learn: – basic DOM-manipulation techniques and concepts that are translatable to other programming languages – Fundamental information about jQuery as a JavaScript framework – How to add and remove elements from a webpage – How to build plugins and use them to retrieve and display hidden data on a page – How to animate elements of your page, including fading in and out – what resources are available if you’d like to continue learning at home (and we think you will) Workshop Dates: This workshop will be run over the course of two evenings: Tuesday, August 21st from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and Thursday, August 23rd from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.
