Mark your calendars and head down to East Village in East Van for the 17th annual Sunrise Summer Kickoff. Hastings North Business Improvement Association and Hastings Sunrise Community Policing Centre are hosting this free community event featuring live music, a Velcro wall, street hockey, and much more! Kids from Kindergarten to grade 9 wanting to participate in street hockey can register online (www.eastvillagevancouver.ca) or drop by the office at 2620 East Hastings Street and fill out a registration form. All kids participating in street hockey receive a free t-shirt, water bottle, lunch, and goodie bag. Get ready to celebrate the summer season with cultural performances, delicious barbeque food, and games galore. The Sunrise Summer Kickoff is happening Saturday, July 7th at 10am to 4pm at the Sunrise Square Parking lot located at 2500 Franklin Street behind London Drugs.
