Find out how advances in digital technology are changing the nature of health care delivery in Canada at the 2018 Research & Innovation Showcase on June 6, 2018, at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts in Kingston, ON.

Keynote speakers include Drs. Eric Topol, Brian Goldman and Richard Birtwhistle. Topol is a world-renowned cardiologist, geneticist and author of the book, The Patient Will See You Now. Goldman is the author of the book The Secret Language of Doctors and host of the CBC Radio program “White Coat, Black Art”. Birtwhistle chairs the Canadian Primary Care Sentinel Surveillance Network, an organization that securely collects and reports on information from electronic health records across Canada to improve the way chronic diseases and neurologic conditions are managed.

In addition to panel discussions and keynote speeches, this day-long event will include a health care innovation hackathon (facilitated by Joule Inc., a Canadian Medical Association Company), presentations from clinician scientists and poster presentations from recent Innovation Fund award winners. Attendees include health care providers, policy makers, industry leaders and patients.

The 2018 Research & Innovation Showcase is hosted by the Southeastern Ontario Academic Medical Organization (SEAMO). SEAMO was founded in 1994 and is a not-for-profit association comprised of the Clinical Teachers’ Association of Queen’s University (CTAQ), the Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC), Providence Care and Queen’s University. Its mission is to support the delivery of outstanding health care, foster excellence in research and education and facilitate the transformation of academic medicine in Southeastern Ontario.

The 2018 Research & Innovation Showcase begins at 8 a.m. and concludes with a networking reception at 5 p.m. Register online before June 3rd, or at the door on the morning of the event.
