Scouts Canada is holding The Great Scouting Adventure Challenge, a free public family event for youth ages 5-14 on Saturday, May 26. Scouts and non-Scouts alike can hone their outdoor, survival, STEM (science, technology engineering, mathematics), teamwork and leadership skills by completing a series of fun challenges. Youth will be put to the test with activities such as creating a shelter, fire building, making slingshots and testing their accuracy, building and testing a miniature dam, basic first aid, planning a healthy camp meal and more. Plus there will be fun games, face painting, crafts, Kub Kar races, exciting prizes, and the opportunity to make new friendships. There’s something for every skill level and age.
