Then don’t miss Rita Bos’ Great Blue Heron Presentation & Book Signing on Saturday December 16th 1:00-3:00pm at the Greater Vernon Museum & Archives. As a tribute to Jan Bos, Rita’s late husband and his passion for these majestic birds Rita and Susan Larson have pooled their photographs to create a beautiful pictorial fact paperback book about the Great Blue Heron at Vernon Heronry, with some Esquimalt Lagoon relatives (smaller Great Blues). A perfect Christmas gift, The Great Blue Heron book will be available to purchase during the event for $18.00. Cash only please. All proceeds from the sale of the paperback go to the continued efforts of The Vernon Heronry Protection Society. Admission is by donation, however we ask that you pre-register by calling the museum, as space is limited.
