Calling All Witches!

September 9, 2017. Calgary, Alberta…….Fun, fellowship and fundraising are at the heart of the second annual Witches Night Out, an evening in support of the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter, held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 7 pm at the Mount Pleasant Community Centre, 602 22Ave NW.

Women are invited to dress in the theme of the evening and enjoy an array of activities including all female live performances by country song-writer/ singer Joni DeLaurier, a SOCAN Award Winner and CCMA Songwriter of the Year nominee, At the Hip Bellydance, Burlesquercise, The Sugar Sweets and DJ Mollyfi, founder of Girls on Decks. There will also be a silent auction, a Witches Market, tarot and angel card readers, psychics and an astrologer. Prizes will be awarded for best and most original costumes. All monies raised from the event go directly to the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter.

Event organizer Calgarian Bonnie Barber says she got the inspiration when she saw a video of German women dressed as witches dancing. “Witches are a modern day symbol of strong independent women whose power comes from with-in. And what could be more fun and powerful than a group of witches coming together in support of women in need.”

Tickets for the event are $40 and can be purchased at http://witchesnightoutyyc.brownpapertickets.com .
