Seafest is held annually on the second weekend in June and is one of the largest community festivals in northwest B.C. From June 9-11th, we are hosting the 39th annual event as we celebrate “Canada 150” with a long winding parade of brightly coloured red and white Canada-proud floats. Seafest brings friends and families together to enjoy community comradery and to celebrate our lives by the sea. Through the three days volunteers organize and coordinate a Seniors Tea, outdoor music bandstands, a day of downtown activities and a day of ocean waterfront events. Hundreds of volunteers from organizations, associations, business and government sectors host an amazing array of activities for the public to participate in or to spectate at. We boast the tastiest shishkabobs in B.C., the funniest and wackiest home-made boats that may or may not float in the Quick & Daring, and a chance to whack your favourite politician or teacher in the pie-throwing or dunk tank! Bring your children to fish at the Children’s Bullhead Derby, or adults enter into the Swim for Survival race, but whatever your passion is to have fun with, we welcome everyone to come to Prince Rupert to join in the fun and have a whale of a good time!
