Batik-making Demonstration and Indonesian Textile Pop-up Shop By Liza Wajong & Diandra Durando Indonesian batik is part of the cultural identity of its people, but as traditional craft, the intricate process of batik making has been an inspiration of many artists. Come and enjoy the demo of Indonesian batik-making making process at Lipont Art Centre. Liza Wajong & Diandra Durando will be on stage to show the beauty of batik creation. They will create a colourful wall hanging using wax resist and natural dyes. Its intricate designs are true inspirations for art enthusiasts. Silk & cotton scarves Colourful scarves inspired by spice and nature from the land of tropics. Hand printed in so many different colours, including natural character of silk shimmers as the fibre’s triangular structure acts as prism. Batik purses Gorgeous patterns of purses, handmade with care using no factory labour, and no two purses are completely alike. Handcrafted batik and weaving textiles inspired by the colour of home. All are rich and beautiful in colours and textures. Batik workshops coming up! Separate batik workshops will be available for a fee later in the summer. Information will be available at the Centre.
