EDMONTON HOSTS HUGE OPEN MARTIAL ARTS TOURNAMENT May 6 & 7, 2017 at Edmonton Expo Centre Hall D, 7515-118 Avenue, Edmonton, AB Please join The Taekwon-Do Development Council of Alberta as they host the Dragon Challenge Open Martial Arts Competition. See the best competitors from across Canada, including students who have represented Canada at various international competitions! This is our 2nd annual Dragon Challenge tournament and is a unique event, as the Taekwon-Do tournaments in Canada are generally smaller and hosted by a single club. Our intent is for this tournament to develop into an annual world class event, and attract competitors and supporters from across Canada and the world. This will allow and encourage the many small clubs in Alberta, Canada and North America to participate in an inclusive event that is based on unity of sport and competition. We are pleased to welcome approximately 410 competitors from across Canada! Where: Edmonton Expo Centre Hall D, 7515-118 Avenue, Edmonton, AB When: Saturday, May 6th, 8:30 am-5:00 pm & Sunday, May 7th, 8:30 am-1:00 pm Opening Ceremonies will be held at 8:30 am on Saturday May 6th. Saturday, May 6, 2017: 8:30 a.m. Opening Ceremonies: Join the celebration and see amazing Taekwon-Do demonstrations during our Opening Ceremony: – Bow In, Student Oath & National Anthem – Demo Team (Board Breaking, Self-Defense Skits & more) 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Join the celebration as we welcome our future champions: – Little Dragons/pre-school – Colour Belt Competition: Patterns & Sparring 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Witness the skill and precision of the Black Belts during the Black Belt Competition: – All Black Belt Patterns, Pee Wee Black Belt Sparring & Board Breaking Sunday, May 7, 2017: 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.The Black Belt Competition continues with the following exciting events: – Black Belt Team Patterns – Black Belt Sparring Competition – Black Belt Individual Board Breaking – Black Belt Team Sparring & Board Breaking Admission is free.
