Join the Calgary Chamber and Calgary Counselling Centre on October 6 for One Step Better: National Depression Screening Day, an important conversation about mental health, addiction, recovery and hope.

The event will feature a keynote from Scott Oake, one of Canada’s most recognizable and respected broadcasters, with more than 40 years covering the NHL, Olympic Games, Grey Cup Championships and other major sporting events. Beyond his distinguished broadcasting career, Scott has become a powerful voice on addiction, mental health, resilience and recovery. Following the loss of his son Bruce to substance use disorder in 2011, Scott and his wife Anne turned their grief into action, establishing the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre and championing recovery-focused supports for individuals and families.

Following the keynote, Scott will join us for a fireside chat exploring mental health, addiction and the workplace, including the importance of breaking down stigma and creating supportive environments where people feel comfortable asking for help.
