The 2026 Prairie Grindstone Prize Award Ceremony: Celebrating Marina Endicott

ABOUT THE PRIZE The Prairie Grindstone Prize recognizes prairie writers of fiction, poetry, or creative nonfiction with a cash prize of $50,000 that will enable the writer to focus on their work for a year or more. This annual prize, funded by an anonymous donor committee, alternates between the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. Marina Endicott’s six novels have been short-listed for the Giller Prize, the Governor General’s award and CBC’s Canada Reads; Good to a Fault won the Commonwealth Writers Prize for Best Book, Canada/Caribbean. Her latest, The Observer, won the City of Saskatoon Fiction Prize and was Saskatchewan’s Book of the Year. She lives in Saskatoon.
