On its fifth anniversary, the Chinatown Storytelling Centre is expanding, and we want you to be the first through the door. This 4,000-square-foot immersive experience brings Vancouver’s Chinatown to life—where the past speaks, and the future listens. Building on the Centre’s main floor exhibits, the Learning Lab highlights Chinatown’s vibrant heyday from the 1950s to the 1970s. Through immersive storytelling, it reveals how a thriving community built institutions, businesses, and a rich cultural world against significant odds. Step into a stunning Chinatown streetscape and experience the energy of restaurants and nightclubs, herbal shops and general stores, newspaper publishers, and community organizations that shaped everyday life. Timed tours are available every 30 minutes. Light refreshments included. Reserve in advance, or join us on the day (subject to availability).
