The annual Rotary Hoop-a-thon is an event at the Strathcona Community Centre, where Members and Friends from the Vancouver Rotary Clubs will be joining young people from the DTES shooting baskets raising funds for the Rotary Club of Vancouver Sunrise’s Youth Services. All money raised will go towards Scholarships, Leadership Development and Training, Strathcona Basketball Program and Recreation Equipment. Since its start in 2007, over $667,000 has been raised for the kids in East Vancouver, over $265,000 in a 100 youth scholarships !
