MIKEY’S RUN supported by Global BC

This June 29th, 2025 a group of dedicated volunteers have organized the inaugural Mikey’s Run. This event will take place on the beautiful trails around Burnaby Lake, and will include a 10 km run, a 5 km walk and a kids’ run. The objective of the run is to bring awareness to the important topic of Men’s’ mental health. A disproportionate number of men suffer from depression, and it’s potentially devastating consequences. Mikey’s Run is aligned with and supporting the wonderful organization Heads Up Guys, a group dedicated to bringing awareness and resources to the area of Men’s mental health. Mikey’s Run is also honouring the memory of Mike, an amazing young man who silently battled depression. As Mike was an avid runner who trained on the beautiful trails around Burnaby Lake, it seems a fitting way to honour his memory. Mikey’s Run will be an opportunity for people to come together to help make a difference in the battle to improve men’s mental health.
