The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (JCCC) is delighted to announce the launch of SakuraFest, an exciting new annual celebration that honours the cultural and seasonal significance of sakura (cherry blossoms) in Canada. Taking place from April 17 to May 11, 2025, the inaugural festival invites guests of all ages to experience the beauty of spring through the lens of Japanese heritage, tradition, and artistry. Set against the backdrop of the JCCC’s own blooming sakura trees, SakuraFest 2025 will feature a vibrant lineup of programming, including Japanese film screenings, live performances, hands-on workshops, culinary pop-ups, and interactive family-friendly events. Guests are encouraged to step inside the Centre to extend their hanami (flower viewing) experience with a curated selection of cultural encounters that both educate and inspire.
