Curious or concerned about BC’s new building code changes and what impact they can have on housing in the province? The BC government recently approved single-egress building code changes, allowing small apartment buildings up to six storeys high to have a single exit staircase. This new policy can create opportunities for “missing middle” developments and building more small-scale multi-unit housing.
