680 CJOB welcomes Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra‘s production 70 Years of POPS at the Centennial Concert Hall on Saturday, October 12th!
Step back in time and celebrate the WSO’s legacy of POPS concerts over the past seven decades. Conducted by RBC Assistant Conductor Monica Chen, this concert features JUNO-nominated Indigenous vocal group Burnstick and the son of long-term WSO Principal cellist Yuri Hooker, pianist Ari Hooker.
This lively concert also features Gershwin’s timeless Rhapsody in Blue, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2024. Relive your favourite WSO Pops moments with a blend of light classical, film scores, pop hits, and Broadway tunes. It’s an evening of nostalgic musical celebration that will bring back fond memories and create new ones!
