The Saskatchewan Craft Council (SCC) is proud to present MUD MATTERS, an exhibition by two noteworthy Saskatchewan ceramic artists, Charley Farrero and the late Evan Quick.  Charley Farrero, originally from Paris, France, has worked as a ceramic artist since 1972 and currently lives and works in Meacham, Sask.  Evan Quick was born and raised in Regina, and his work uses metaphor as social commentary that is distinctly Saskatchewan.

This exhibition features 40 pieces that tell the stories of everyday life with a twist of humour and reference to important worldly events that impact us all in a personal way.  The works are comprised of stylized figures and objects that are meant to be read like a story book or theatrical stage set.  Hundreds of miniature ceramic elements are collaged together to set the scene, in reliefs that are mounted onto the gallery walls or can be viewed in the round.  MUD MATTERS is a feast of colour and texture that inspires the imagination and pushes the boundary of what can be done with clay.  The Saskatchewan Craft Council invites you to explore the tiny yet impactful world of Mud Matters.
