The fourth Annual Vernon Lions Club Duck Race and Family Day will take place on Saturday, June 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Guide dog instructors from B.C. and Alberta will be on-site to host a blindfold walk, which helps participants experience what it would be like to be blind.
The Vernon Community Band, the Sweet Adeline singers, and the Kalamalka Pipe Band will provide entertainment, and a barbecue lunch can be purchased throughout the day. There will also be games for children to play.
Come down and watch your ducks race to the finish line.
The Kalamalka Fly Fishermen will retrieve the ducks at the finish line, and RCMP volunteers will keep children out of the creek and the ducks in.
Organizers thank the volunteers, local grocery stores, and sponsors for helping the Vernon Lions Club place Autism service dogs with families in the community.
