Les Echos du Pacifique, Greater Vancouver’s francophone, choir welcomes Spring with a concert on Saturday, May 11 at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Catholic Church in Coquitlam’s historic Maillardville. Artistic Director Marla Mayson and the choir are excited to present a richly varied selection of pieces, including lovely works in celebration of Spring and love by French composers Gabriel Fauré, Francis Poulenc and Camille St Saens; songs from the American songbooks of Jerome Kern and Irving Berlin, two Japanese folk songs and a new, entrancing arrangement of Eden Ahbez’s “Nature Boy” sung in French. For over fifty years, Les Echos du Pacifique have celebrated French-Canadian heritage and culture. Today the 20-voice chamber choir welcomes francophones and francophiles from across the Lower Mainland, singing at concerts, festival stages, and in the community, and globally through their YouTube Channel. Tickets for “Salut le Printemps” are on sale at BrownPaperTickets.com at various prices including group discounts and free admission for children under 13.
